Beginning Counselling

I firstly offer an initial assessment, this is a chance for you to tell me a little about what is going on for you, the impact it’s having on your life and what your hopes for therapy are. It is a chance for you to decide if I am someone you wish to work with and for me to see if I think I can help. It is also an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about counselling or my practice.

If we decide to go ahead and work together, I will send you a working contract which gives you information on how I work and what to expect from my counselling. I will ask you to sign and return a copy of this which will serve as our working contract. This contract is not legally-binding and does not tie you to our sessions. I also ask for emergency contact details.

Where I work

I have a therapy room at Wheatrig Buisness Hub (EH32 0PL), located between Haddington and Longniddry and I also offer sessions in Spott Village Hall (EH42 1RJ), located just outside of Dunbar.

Both spaces are situated in secluded and peaceful settings with gorgeous views of East Lothian and are easily accessible by car. The rooms offer a private space that is warm, welcoming and relaxing. I like the idea that the locations offer a calm space in nature to take a pause between our counselling sessions and going back to everyday life.
